While genealogy is a passion (some might call it an addiction!), my primary occupation for over 40 years has been that of a
photographer. For 30 of those years I have worked at the Communications Research Centre of Industry Canada,
making images of both technical and human subjects, including the recording of many of the programs of the
Canadian Space Agency.
In the areas related to genealogy, in 1990 I embarked on a project to record gravestones related to the Brebner/Bremner families
throughout Scotland and North America. Many of these images appear on the
monumental inscriptions pages. Hard copy images of these
images are available at a cost of $25.00 CDN per 8x10 image. Produced either from scans of 6x6 cm negative stock, or more recently
from professional-quality digital cameras and printed on archivally stable paper, these make a great addition to the paper archive
of any researcher. Each printed image is accompanied by a high-resolution CD version.
I am available for photographic assignments of other subjects, including architectural views, property recording and so-on. My location
in Ottawa, Canada gives me easy access to eastern Ontario and western Quebec, including the major urban centres of Toronto and Montreal as well
as towns and villages along the St. Lawrence Seaway and the northern United State including New York and Vermont.
I visit the north-east of Scotland every May, and can schedule assignments there at your convenience.
