About this collection...
The Brebner/Bremner marriage database comprises a collection of over 16,000 records (June 2011) compiled from a variety of sources, including Scottish OPR, Scottish NRH records, the IGI, statutory English and Welsh, as well as Australian, Canadian and American marriages. This is the most comprehensive collection of marriages for those researching the Brebner/Bremner name available anywhere to date.

You may also search for marriages using the spouse's surname.

For many marriages, and for most in the last half of the 19th century, connections to families and compiled genealogies have been established.

Search Tips:
  • *   You must enter a first name!
  • *   You must enter a year!
  • All surname spellings (Brebner, Bremner, Brymer, Brimer etc.) will be searched.
  • Name entry is case-insensitive; JANE, Jane, jane, JaNE will produce the same results.
  • All common variants of names are now searched; ie: Katie, Kathrine, Catharine etc. will all produce the same results, as will Isabel, Isobella, Bella, etc. If in doubt, use the most common spelling.
  • Select "All countries" if you think your ancestor may have been married in a country other than the pre-selected choices, or if your initial selection produced no results.
  • Data is being added monthly; please e-mail me if you don't see results here and I'll check my master databases. Many couples never had formal marriage ceremonies!
