Extracted from the Scottish Death Registers for Old Machar, Aberdeen, ref. 0458-1879

Found 21st May 1879 about 5h 30m PM in River Don south side, opposite Kettecks Mills. Usual Residence 99 High Street, Old Aberdeen; age 56.

Son of John INGRAM (labourer, deceased) and Elizabeth INGRAM, previously KING, ms TORBIT (deceased).

Cause of death: Drowning; Informant: Jane INGRAM, sister, 99 High Street, Old Aberdeen.

The following report of result of precognition has been received touching the death of John INGRAM registered under No. 458 in the Register Book of Deaths for the year 1879.

Name: John INGRAM

When and where died: Between the 12th and 21st days of May 1879. Found in the River Don about 600 yards above the old Bridge of Balgownie, pastish of Old Machar and County of Aberdeen.

Cause of death: Suicide by drowing himself.
