Mair Ancestors in the North-East of Scotland

Three members of the MAIR family married into my Brebner family in the 1920's in Aberdeen. The family lived near the sea in Aberdeen in the 19th century, and were employed as seamen and ropemakers.

Alexander Mair (about 1776-1843) married Janet Knight in Monquhitter in 1801; son William Mair married Christian Christie in Aberdeen in 1828. His son William Mair married Christian Buchan in Newhills in 1861 and had (at least) eight children.
