November 29, 2009 I have revisited the Bremner records at the Moray Local Heritage Service LIBINDX site and added a number of new records, as well as details for several hundred existing BMD index records. I made an initial transcription of these records, formerly known as the Grant Lodge Collection in 2004, and I'm pleased to note that the collection has grown considerably in the past few years.

These records are derived from a variety of sources, including contemporary newspaper announcements as well as Poor Relief records, burial records, and non-conformist baptisms. While these focus primarily on the counties of Morayshire and Banffshire, there are details of citizens from as far afield as Canada and Australia.

November 28, 2009 All male Bremner marriages index records from scotlandspeople from 1940 to 2006 (some 1500 additional records) have now been transcribed to the marriage databases. The corresponding female records should be complete by late December.
October 10, 2009 Transcriptions of the London Metropolitan Archives births, baptisms, marriages, deaths and burials (from ancestry.com) are now complete with the addition of details for many of the Brebner/Bremner etc. families from that area. Compiled genealogies for those families are under revision, and will be posted as soon as each has been updated.
October 06, 2009 Scottish Deaths and Burials available on scotlandspeople from 1538-1854 for Brebner/Bremner and variations have been added to to the Brebner/Bremner Deaths database, with many now being connected to the compiled genealogies.
October 01, 2009 The addition of Brebner/Bremner etc. birth and death index records from scotlandspeople site has now been completed, and the addition of marriage index records to 2006 is underway, with Brebner, Brymer, Brimer, Brimner completed. The Bremner surname entries are expected to be added by the end of November, 2009.

Individuals in the primary event databases:

•  Births:    29,500

•  Marriages:    13,000

•  Deaths:    18,200

The ongoing addition of individuals in the 1841-1901 UK censuses continues, with many of the married female Brebner/Bremner indivuduals now listed.

Individuals in the UK census databases:

•  1841 census:    6129 individuals

•  1851 census:    6245

•  1861 census:    6708

•  1871 census:    4925

•  1881 census:    6000

•  1891 census:    5795

•  1901 census:    6459

Transcription of the 1911 English and Wales census is ongoing, and that census will be available for searching in 2010.
