I also spent a couple of days in my favourite Aladdin's Cave of data, the Aberdeen and North East Scotland Family History Society. I transcribed much of the member data for Brebner/Bremner families from the extensive collection of green binders in the basement... these are a great resource for both the beginner and the experienced genealogist alike. I've always insisted that there's no point in reinventing the wheel of family genealogy, and many of these records are a great starting point to explore some of the more obscure ancestors in your family. One caveat... always verify the sources of all information found in these family group sheets.
